Our Healthy Dream Church!

Two things that God has called and anointed us to be in Hong Kong:

1 – An increasingly ‘soul winning’ church

Luke 5:27-32 (NLT)
Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. [28] So Levi got up, left everything, and followed him. [29] Later, Levi held a banquet in his home with Jesus as the guest of honor. Many of Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them. [30] But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with such scum?” [31] Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor-sick people do. [32] I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.”

Luke 15:7 (NLT)
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

Jesus Lifehouse exists for the beautiful unsaved young people of Hong Kong. They are Gods priority. We exist to fill heaven with people from Hong Kong. We are here to impact people’s eternities.

Unsaved young people need:

1 – To be loved and believed in 被愛和得到信任
ENEMY: Cliques

2 – A clear and simple gospel message
ENEMY: ‘Christianese’ and lack of focus on Jesus

2 – An increasingly ‘discipling’ church

Ephesians 4:11-16 (NLT)
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. [12] Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. [13] This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. [14] Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. [15] Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. [16] He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

Jesus Lifehouse exists to help Hong Kong young people become like Jesus. Growing, healthy, full of love and mature in every way. We are here to impact people’s destinies.

1 – Truth 真理
2 – Love 愛心

Raising Up Champions

Hebrews 12:5-11 NLT
And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said, “My child, don’t make light of the LORD’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you. For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

2. Encourage, encourage, encourage!
Romans 1:12 AMP
That is, that we may be mutually strengthened and encouraged and comforted by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.

A winning team!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NLT)
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. [10] If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. [11] Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? [12] A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Proverbs 18:1 (ESV)
Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NLT)
For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. [4] They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

1 Timothy 1:12-14 (NLT)
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him, [13] even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ. In my insolence, I persecuted his people. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief. [14] Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus.

Acts 3:6-12a (NLT)
But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” [7] Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. [8] He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. [9] All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. [10] When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded! [11] They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.

[12] Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd…

There are moments where The Holy Spirit is moving and God will speak to you, the leader, to address something. These are significant opportunities from God to make dramatic growth and advance the Kingdom, but they often only come once.

God moments are often brief and situational (totally unplanned). If you get the feeling that it’s a God moment, it probably is and you need to speak Gods truth.

Common characteristics of God moments:
- You sense an openness
- Your heart rate has sped up 你心跳會加速
- It’s possible this situation won’t happen again for a while

Titus 2:15 (AMP)
Tell them all these things. Urge (advise, encourage, warn) and rebuke with full authority. Let no one despise or disregard or think little of you conduct yourself and your teaching so as to command respect.

1 – Encourage – Strengthen something
2 – Correct – Realign something
3 – Challenge – Remove something

1 Samuel 16:16-18,21-23 (NIV)
Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the lyre. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes on you, and you will feel better.” [17] So Saul said to his attendants, “Find someone who plays well and bring him to me.” [18] One of the servants answered, “I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the Lord is with him.” [21] David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers. [22] Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, “Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him.” [23] Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.

Establishing a culture of courtesy

1 – Good manners show love and respect for Jesus

1 Corinthians 13:5a (AMP)
It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.

Ephesians 5:21 (MSG)
Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another.

2 – Leaders have a responsibility to confront rudeness

1 Corinthians 5:9 (MSG)
But I am saying that you shouldn’t act as if everything is just fine when a friend who claims to be a Christian is promiscuous or crooked, is flip with God or rude to friends, gets drunk or becomes greedy and predatory. You can’t just go along with this, treating it as acceptable behavior. I’m not responsible for what the outsiders do, but don’t we have some responsibility for those within our community of believers? God decides on the outsiders, but we need to decide when our brothers and sisters are out of line and, if necessary, clean house.

What you don’t confront, you condone. You have a leadership responsibility to confront bad manners in your group, and to train them in the character of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 (AMP)
And we earnestly beseech you, brethren, admonish (warn and seriously advise) those who are out of line the loafers, the disorderly, and the unruly; encourage the timid and fainthearted, help and give your support to the weak souls, and be very patient with everybody always keeping your temper.

Train people in good manners, and expect it from them. This will help them succeed in many areas in life.
